The US has allowed career-long religious accommodation for Sikhs to serve in the armed forces while maintaining their articles of faith like the turban and beard.
Meeting a long-pending demand of the Sikh community, the US has allowed career-long religious accommodation for them to serve in the armed forces while maintaining their articles of faith like the turban and beard.
The directive issued by the Department of Defence, provides for career-long accommodation for Sikh Americans and others to serve while maintaining articles of faith.
